Filmmaking often involves using real animals, but safety measures take the stage when a scene depicts a human being in close proximity to a dangerous animal — as we see in this iconic scene from Gladiator.
It’s not a guarantee that a tiger is going to hurt someone; some tigers are actually quite amicable. But at the end of the day, it’s still an incredibly powerful predator that could easily remove someone from the census, so it’s best to play it safe.
