With CGI becoming the primary method for creating settings and props in contemporary filmmaking, it’s easy to overlook the physical creations that were utilized, especially in older films and TV productions. Many elements we witnessed on the big screen were indeed tangible and constructed in the real world.

Take, for instance, this Dalek from the original 1965 Doctor Who series. Its construction material may remain a mystery, but it was evidently sturdy enough to accommodate its animated movements. Yet, considering the Dalek’s status as an advanced lifeform, perhaps such resilience shouldn’t come as a surprise.
