The enduring appeal of Star Wars owes much to its commitment to real-world locations, as opposed to relying on artificial sets or CGI for its scenery. In this case, the film was shot in the actual desert of Tunisia, delivering a genuine and immersive backdrop. However, this authentic approach had its drawbacks, especially for the actors who had to endure the relentless sun.

Anthony Daniels, in particular, faced a formidable challenge as he portrayed C-3PO while encased in his cumbersome costume. Notably, the image reveals him cooling off in the sweltering heat, highlighting the discomfort he endured during the shoot. What’s striking is the absence of a chair, likely because the suit wouldn’t allow for sitting comfortably, emphasizing the dedication and sacrifice of the actors.
