Pennsylvania Dutch Language
Amish people have a distinct way of communicating, known as “Pennsylvania Dutch,” which originated from early German settlers in Pennsylvania. While once spoken by nearly half of the state’s population, it is now primarily used within the Amish community.
While almost half of all the people in Pennsylvania spoke this way at one point, today it is a way of communication that is mostly reserved for the Amish.
