Joan Crawford was once Hollywood’s beloved star, the golden girl. Despite being unable to have children of her own, she took on the role of a loving mother to Christina and Christopher, whom she adopted in 1940. However, behind the facade of a doting mother, Joan concealed a cruel and selfish nature, often resorting to physically abusing her children by hitting them with clothes hangers.
Despite this harsh treatment, Joan would present a different image in public, posing for Christmas photos with her kids. However, she would later rewrap or give away almost all the gifts, leaving just one for her children while donating the rest to charity.
