Loretta Young and Clark Gable

Loretta Young revealed that while filming the 1935 adventure film Call of the Wild, Clark Gable forced himself on her while on a train. As a result of this unfortunate incident, the young actress became pregnant. She kept the pregnancy hidden from the public to avoid scandal and protect her career.

When Loretta gave birth to a baby girl, she named her Judy after St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes. To keep the truth concealed, Loretta initially placed Judy in an orphanage but decided to adopt her a year and a half later. However, as Judy grew up, it became evident that she bore a strong resemblance to her father, Clark Gable, leading to the revelation of her true parentage.
