Let’s “Ruff” things up.
The attempt to incorporate a furry-friend concept into the restroom signs raises some questions. The designer may not have realized that all dog breeds have males and females. They used a bulldog to represent the men’s area and a female poodle to represent the women’s section.
This design doubles down on the association of gruff bulldogs with males and dainty poodles with females, as often depicted in movies and TV shows. Regardless of intentions, there are more respectful ways to differentiate between genders.
