This sign exemplifies an attempt at uniqueness that falls flat. Gender-specific door colors are already in place, but the supporting sentences are laden with stereotypes and offense. The sentence on the male door is particularly confusing.
Contrary to the sign’s suggestion, weight loss is not solely a concern for women; some men also strive to lose weight. Additionally, it can perpetuate harmful body image issues, especially for individuals with eating disorders. Simply labeling the doors as “gent” and “women” without the unnecessary sentence would have sufficed.
