Pineapple

Contrary to popular belief, pineapples don’t grow on trees but instead emerge from large, spiky bushes close to the ground. The resemblance between the spiky top of a pineapple and its parent bush is quite striking, though the bush lacks the fruit’s sweetness.

Pineapples thrive in warm climates like those in West Africa and Latin America. The planting process is unconventional; simply planting the top portion of a pineapple can initiate the growth of a new plant. However, patience is key, as it can take years for a new pineapple to develop and bear fruit.
