When he was reaching for another cigarette from the pack, she walked away. After smoking two cigarettes and putting the pack back in his pocket, he discovered that the pack was gone. Let’s just come right out and say what’s on everyone else’s mind: the packet he found in Oregon was the exact same one he had misplaced in California.
