Overboiling Eggs

The overcooking of the egg is a common mistake that can lead to disagreeable results. When eggs are overcooked, the whites become rubbery, and the yolks dry out, making them difficult to peel. Paying close attention to the cooking time and temperature is essential to avoid this. For soft-boiled eggs, boil them for three to five minutes, depending on how runny you like the yolk.

For over-easy or sunny-side-up eggs, cook them on each side for two to three minutes. For scrambled eggs, cook them until just set but still moist. Removing the eggs from the heat a little before they’re fully cooked is also essential, as the residual heat will continue to cook them. This will ensure that you get perfectly cooked and delicious eggs every time.
