Despite “Abby & Brittany” airing in August 2012, Abby and Brittany Hensel had already been well-known in the public eye for many years before that. They made their first appearance in popular media sources in the mid-1990s.
Their initial taste of fame came when they were featured on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996. This exposure was soon followed by a cover feature in Life Magazine with the headline “One Body, Two Souls.” The accompanying article, “The Hensels’ Summer,” offered insights into the twins’ daily lives. Their popularity continued to grow, and they were featured again in Life Magazine just two years later.
