Growing Up Together
Abby and Brittany Hensel entered the world as the children of Patty, a registered nurse, and Mike Hensel, a skilled carpenter and landscaper, hailing from Carver County, Minnesota. They spent their childhood in New Germany, Minnesota, with a younger brother and sister.
Growing up, their lives were marked by numerous struggles and challenges. Everyday tasks that most children easily accomplish were incredibly difficult for the conjoined twins to master. Due to the unique nature of their anatomy, with each twin having control over only half of their shared body, even basic actions like crawling required a considerable amount of time and effort to perfect.
