Nickelback, Portugal Performance

Throughout their entire career, Nickelback has been subjected to an abundance of unwarranted criticism and disdain. However, their ill-fated concert in Portugal in 2002 stands out as an extreme example. While passionately performing on stage, the audience’s hostility escalated to a shocking level when they began hurling rocks and bottles towards the band.

Despite the band’s resilience, the situation reached a breaking point only two songs into the performance. In a moment of desperation, lead singer Chad Kreuger courageously attempted to diffuse the tension by offering the crowd an opportunity for change. Unfortunately, his gesture was met with yet another bottle hurled directly at his head. Faced with such hostility, the band had no choice but to abruptly end the show, their commitment to their own safety prevailing over their desire to entertain the audience.
