Educational approaches can vary greatly from one school to another. Some institutions may emphasize strict discipline, with students expected to stand up when a teacher enters the room and respectfully address them. In contrast, other schools may adopt a more informal approach, allowing students to address their teachers by their first names.
In the photo provided, it appears that in Russia, there is a different method of disciplining students when they misbehave. They are instructed to stand against the wall with their hands behind their backs. Although depicted in the picture, this punishment may not necessarily represent the practices of all Russian schools or be the sole form of discipline employed. Detention, which may be familiar to some, might seem preferable.
