The Highest Peak

Most island chains essentially consist of the tips of underwater mountain ranges. Consequently, many of them feature substantial mountains. However, Indonesia is home to the tallest peak, Mount Jayawijaya, which rises to just under 5,000 meters above sea level.

Located on the island of Papua, this mountain’s height is the sole reason you can find snow in Indonesia during winter. It’s quite a sight to behold!
