#37: Behind the Scenes of the CIA

People often have a skewed perception of the roles and responsibilities of employees working at the CIA or the FBI, mainly due to the portrayal of these positions in movies. While there are certainly positions within these agencies that are action-packed and exciting, there are also many essential behind-the-scenes roles that play a crucial role in the success of operations.

One such role is the Case Office/Operations Officer at the CIA. This job is considered to be the most paperwork-intensive within the agency, and if you were to hold this position, you would likely be considered the “biggest paper pusher” among your peers. Despite its bureaucratic nature, the work performed by the Case Office/Operations Officer is critical to the CIA’s primary focus on foreign affairs with the United States.
