Oogie Boogie

For years, parents have used various mythical or made-up creatures to coax their children into going to sleep, from the Sandman to the Bogeyman and the classic monster under the bed. We don’t understand how the notion of these frightening creatures could encourage any child to behave and go to bed, but some traditions are beyond questioning.

Not to be confused with the Boogeyman, Oogie Boogie is a villainous character from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Despite his whimsical name, Oogie Boogie is considered one of the most menacing Halloween villains. Unlike scary creatures who simply want a good time, Oogie Boogie is genuinely malevolent!
