Noise

Recently, as she sat at a quaint neighborhood café in Paris, she found herself taken aback by the profound silence that enveloped the surroundings. On that particular day, the city was celebrating a national holiday, and she had the good fortune to experience a rare moment of tranquility with very few people in sight. However, it went beyond mere sparsity. No cars were racing past, no jackhammers tearing into the streets, and no chatter filling the air.

Instead, the musical symphony of birdsong treated her. This was a stark departure from the constant din that typically inundates the city, and she couldn’t resist sharing her fascination with her coffee companion, who quickly became subjected to her enthusiastic comments about this extraordinary silence. While she holds a deep appreciation for Paris as a vibrant and lively city, there are moments when its relentless noise can become a bit overwhelming.
