Awkward Phase

What are adults, really? As kids, we thought reaching 30 meant stepping into old age, but here we are, stumbling through adulthood like we’re still teenagers. We live off frozen pizza, still don’t have enough savings for a down payment on a home, and often find ourselves wondering when exactly we became responsible for our own lives. We should feel grown-up, yet the reality is we’re just winging it, feeling out of place in a world we thought we’d have figured out by now.

Being around kids under 18 makes you feel even older. Suddenly, you’re the grandpa groaning when you stand up, and your joints crack at the most inconvenient moments. It’s a strange existence, one where sleeping on special pillows becomes a necessity just to preserve your delicate joints. We might be adults, but in moments like these, we realize we’re just as lost as the kids navigating their teenage years.
