Avril Lavigne
When we were first introduced to Canadian teen Avril Lavigne, she was marketed as the ultimate skater girl. She was frequently seen donning combat attire, a tie, and an abundance of heavy-duty arm accessories, portraying the rebellious spirit of the era, or at least that was the image she was meant to convey.
Avril has remained true to her punk rock sensibilities with some contemporary updates. She dabbled in Kawaii styles for a while, although she faced some criticism for doing so. In this snapshot, she wears punk-inspired pink plaid but with a more modern silhouette.
