Toe Wedding Rings
In Tamil Nadu, a region in India, the wedding ring holds a unique tradition where it is not placed on the finger but on the “index” toe of the foot. As part of this ritual, two silver rings are delicately positioned on the foot of the bride-to-be, symbolizing the aspiration for a prosperous pregnancy. Interestingly, it is believed that gold rings should be avoided in this context due to their association with the goddess of abundance.
