Don’t Drink and Write
Ernest Hemingway is almost as famous for his love affair with booze as an author. Rumors circulated that he used to write while inebriated and would bring a pitcher of Martini to his writing office daily, but this is another writing urban legend.
When asked if that was true, Hemingway replied: “Jeezus Christ! Have you ever heard of anyone who drank while he worked?… Besides, who would mix more than one Martini at a time?”
