Gonzo
In 1964, gonzo writer Hunter S. Thompson traveled to Hemingway’s house in Ketchum, Ohio. While alone in the house, Thompson noticed an attractive pair of elk horns hanging above the door to the cabin and decided to help himself to them as a little souvenir.
According to Thompson’s widow, Hunter was completely embarrassed by his actions and had always planned to return them but simply never got around to it. In 2016, she contacted the family and returned them herself. Better late than never!
