Expressive Ears

One of the most endearing features of a puppy is its ears. Unlike human babies whose ears develop with their bodies, dogs are born with large, floppy ears that they grow into as they mature. Moreover, each ear has 18 separate muscles allowing a wide range of movements and expressions.

From perking up in curiosity to drooping in sadness, a dog’s ears can display as much emotion as its eyes or tail. And the speed at which they alter their ear positions can be downright adorable. No wonder many people fall in love with dogs just by looking at their ears!
