Not Plan B.
The issue of ignorance surrounding birth control has resurfaced once again. Although I can understand the reasoning behind assuming that taking a pill every day indicates a desire to prevent pregnancy, it would have been more prudent for the individual to inquire about how the medication works before making assumptions. While this person is not entirely at fault for their lack of knowledge, their assumption is still problematic.
What’s most concerning, however, is the phrase “nearly every day.” Birth control pills must be taken at the same time each day to be effective, and even one missed pill can result in an unintended pregnancy. It’s fortunate that the individual in question wasn’t in a relationship with the woman taking the pill.
