The Reality Hurts

Our grandparents are some of the most beloved people in our lives. Both have a special place in our hearts, and for good reason. They have seen us grow up and have watched us navigate through life’s challenges; and are always there to provide us with love, guidance, and support. One of the most endearing qualities of grandparents is that they have a unique way of looking at us that is different from our parents and peers. They seem to see the best in us and can make us feel like we can conquer the world.

However, as much as we appreciate our grandparents’ unwavering support and encouragement, there may come a time when we realize that their perception of us may be a bit skewed. It is natural for grandparents to be proud of their grandchildren and to think highly of them. But it is important for us to recognize that we are not perfect and that we make mistakes. If we constantly receive compliments and positive feedback without any constructive criticism, it can lead to a false sense of confidence that may not serve us well in the long run. It is important to receive honest feedback from those around us to help us grow and develop as individuals.
