Farmers Aren’t Necessary.
Is it really necessary to allocate 92 million acres of US soil to corn and 83.8 million acres to soybeans when we can easily buy these crops from supermarkets? It may seem like a waste, but the truth is that farmers play a crucial role in supplying raw materials to manufacturers who convert them into the products that we consume every day. For instance, without farmers, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy sugar-laden treats that we often purchase from supermarkets and indulge in multiple times a day. Therefore, it’s important to recognize the value of farmers and the role they play in our food supply chain.
Furthermore, suggesting that we don’t need cattle farms because we can eat steak at steakhouses is oversimplifying the issue. Raising cattle is a complex process that involves much more than just producing meat for consumption. Cattle farms also provide other essential products such as milk, cheese, and leather. Moreover, the livelihood of many farmers is tied to cattle farming, so dismissing its importance can have severe economic consequences. It’s crucial to acknowledge the interconnectivity of our food supply chain and the valuable contributions that farmers make to ensure its smooth functioning.
