Loretta Young
Although the public and the media continue to be fascinated by the stories of Hollywood stars becoming pregnant outside of their marriages, this information has very little bearing on the careers of these stars in today’s society. In the 1930s, the matter was handled very differently, particularly with regard to Loretta Young.
She became pregnant as a result of an affair she had with Clark Gable. She was left with no other option except to admit defeat. The child didn’t want to jeopardize her acting career or risk being blacklisted in Hollywood. She had to reintroduce the child into her life two years later in order to resume her role as the mother of the child.
