Miesha Tate

Miesha Tate, one of the finest female fighters in mixed martial arts, retired in 2016. While she didn’t conclude her career as the reigning champion, Tate had the distinction of holding the belt for several months.

She claimed the title from Holly Holm but later lost it to Amanda Nunes via submission four months later. Her final fight took place at Madison Square Garden. UFC chief Dana White credits her with Ronda Rousey for bringing women into the UFC.
