Most people associate Tinder with city life, college campuses, or late-night swiping — definitely not Antarctica. Yet the app’s first documented international match happened there in 2014. Two scientists working on research stations connected through the app, proving that love (or at least curiosity) can spark even at the bottom of the world.

Since then, Tinder has made over 60 billion matches. How many led to relationships? Well… that’s another statistic entirely.
