Aladdin — Based on Tom Cruise
Originally, actor Michael J. Fox initially inspired the titular character in Disney’s 1992 film Aladdin. However, as the character’s design evolved in late production, the creators portrayed him as older, making Fox no longer suitable for the role.
Then, Jeffrey Katzenberg, the then-chairman of Walt Disney Studios, turned to Tom Cruise’s character from “Top Gun” as the main source of inspiration due to the mature appearance that Aladdin’s character required.
