One Major Hit Follows Another
Following “The Notebook,” Ryan became a household name, gaining recognition not only for being one of the most attractive individuals in Hollywood but also for showcasing his versatile acting prowess. In 2006, he solidified this reputation by portraying the role of the drug-addicted teacher Dan Dunne in “Half Nelson.” His performance was so exceptional that it garnered him a well-deserved Best Actor Academy Award nomination.
Subsequently, Ryan landed a part in the 2007 crime thriller “Fracture,” starring alongside Anthony Hopkins. Interestingly, the producers faced challenges in getting the script to him. During that time, Ryan spent two months living in a tent for undisclosed reasons. Ultimately, the film succeeded, and he continued his acting journey with the unique comedy “Lars and the Real Girl,” which earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
