For many, Ryan might be immune to missteps. Unfortunately, that hasn’t always been the case. In 2009, he was slated to take on the lead role in the supernatural thriller “The Lovely Bones,” but circumstances didn’t unfold as planned.
During his audition, Ryan, the dashing figure, weighed 150 pounds, which aligned with the intended portrayal. However, he gained significant weight when he arrived for filming, bringing the scale up to 210 pounds. Ironically, he intentionally put on the weight, believing it was suitable for the character, complete with a beard. Director Peter Jackson had a contrasting vision for the role.
