She Left Home for Manolo
Sofia Vergara has experienced several relocations, often motivated by her and her family’s need for safety. During escalating violence in Colombia, the Vergara family became a target of attention in their hometown of Barranquilla. To protect herself and her son, Sofia left Barranquilla and moved to Bogota for job opportunities and a safer environment.
Upon arriving in Bogota, Sofia, who was already a model, was offered a chance to work as an actress. She starred in a Mexican telenovela, which proved to be a stepping stone to more acting opportunities and eventually played a significant role in launching her successful acting career.
