Regardless of the nature of their connection, Cory left an indelible impact on Taylor, which she channeled into a song. In her track “Mine” from the album Speak Now, Swift narrates her experience of feeling a strong affinity for a boy she had only a fleeting acquaintance with.
Devotees of Swift’s music suggest that this boy in question is Corey, and the song subsequently reveals his attempt to elevate their relationship to a more serious level. Tragically, Corey passed away in July 2013.
