Nevertheless, she found the inspiration to create three songs from the brief romance. “Starlight” and “Everything Has Changed” were crafted with Kennedy in mind, while in “Begin Again,” she draws parallels between the dynamics of her relationships with Jake and Conor.
“Begin Again” features these lines: “As you tilt your head back, laughing like a young child / I find it peculiar that you find me amusing, as he never did / I’ve spent the past eight months / Believing that love only shatters, burns, and concludes / Yet on a Wednesday in a café, I witnessed its fresh start.”
