Captors Become The Captives

Dachau concentration camp held approximately 67,665 registered prisoners between 1933 and 1945, a horrifying chapter in history. In 1945, when American soldiers liberated the camp, they encountered a horrifying and dreadful scene. Emaciated bodies were scattered throughout the camp, and nearby train tracks held rotting corpses in appalling conditions.

The shocking discovery prompted a swift response, as they rounded up numerous S.S. guards and their dogs for execution. They stripped off the clothes of some of the most infamous guards to prevent their escape before executing them. However, these actions were in violation of the Geneva Convention. As word of the incident spread, an inquiry was launched to investigate the circumstances surrounding the retaliation.
