Rapist Bribes Authorities
For many years, Akku Yadav seemed to get away with the heinous rapes of some 200 women in the Kasturba Nagar slum of New Delhi. Although many victims came forward to lay charges, this man bribed the authorities and paid a bunch of henchmen to protect him. Many times, the police tipped Yadav off, and he would arrive at the victim’s home, throwing acid at them or subjecting them to further assaults.
Thanks to Usha Narayana, who had been repeatedly harassed, revenge became possible. She approached her brother, who approached the police commissioner, promising assistance. However, the residents grew tired of waiting and attacked Yadav’s home, leading to his surrender to the police.
